Homemade caramel sauce

This quick caramel sauce is a great addition to many desserts. It's really easy to make and simply delicious!


250g of sugar

50ml of water

50g of butter

150ml of double cream


  1. Put the sugar and water in a pan. Heat up without stirring until sugar melts and become caramel. If you want your sauce to be darker, richer colour, use brown sugar.

  2. Stirring add cream and butter. Be very careful when dealing with caramel as it is extremely hot!

  3. When the ingredients combine, the sauce is ready. If you want to make it a bit thicker just reduce it by cooking a bit longer stirring all the time. Remember though, that when caramel sauce cools down it thickens up anyway.
